I recently picked up food from Artemis - Mediterranean Grill. First off, hats off to the staff for their warmth and timely service! However, the food itself didn't quite hit the mark. The hummus was oddly colored and underwhelming. The falafel seemed like it was premade and frozen, lacking that fresh-made taste. Additionally, the chicken gyro was more of a sandwich, and the vegetables in the salad didn't taste fresh. The moussaka also missed the authenticity I was looking for. Though the prices were reasonable, I didn't find the food experience satisfying enough to return. Big thanks to the team for their friendliness, though!
Food is good. Drinks are great. And Service and atmosphere is wow.
Hostess was nice and greetable. Waitress pleasant, attentive and did a good job. With an inaugural visit I sampled everything I normally like at most Mediterranean restaurants. First up the fried calamari. Light batter, tender body pieces. The tentacles were over done a touch. Nothing here is enedible. Sauces for calamari I preffered neither just plain lemon. Then I tried the spanokoita (Spanish and feta in phyllo dough) best dish here for me. Then the lamb kebab plate. I asked waitress for no pink. It was under done as well tasted of beef. Then I sampled most of the baklava. It was OK. Would I come back? eh who knows? Atmosphere and overall three star because the male staff weirded me out.
On wings alone they get five stars! Never even thought of Mediterranean Wings, glad we order them. Had the right amount heat, and the feta and yogurt sauce help with the cool down. Staff was friendly and fast. Answered our questions politely and with a smile. Recommend this place.
This place has gone downhill so much within the last year. The food and service used to be super good but now (even after not going for months), everything is so much worse. The food itself is decent at best, the service is incredibly slow and bad. The server our table had had bloodshot eyes and was, we’re pretty sure, on drugs. He was slurring words and wasn’t there at all! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Guys, just avoid this place. There’s so many new Mediterranean restaurants now, just go there.
Amazing food! I ordered the stuffed chicken and my husband had the gyro plate. Both were incredible! The sauce is AMAZING. And our waitress was so kind to bring me more because I am such a sauce addict, especially when it’s THIS GOOD. This is some of the best food I’ve had in a while!
Where do I begin!
Wonderful food, those Artemis fries are the best and that sauce...
Order the gyros plate with gluten free pita substitution and also a side of rice pilaf.
Fresh, hot, and quality with large portions.
Absolutely recommend and will be coming back!
Only good aspect of my lunch experience was the friendly server and the nice geographical setting of the restaurant itself.
I won’t beat around the bush, the food here is terrible. To call it Greek cuisine probably is enough to make Socrates turn in his grave. The meat of the gyros is so processed, a healthier option would’ve been to take in and eat a week old whataburger meat pattie with the pitta.
The moussaka was made by someone who clearly hadn’t even seen a picture of what a moussaka is. I won’t get into the intricacies of texture of the food and how impressively wrong the chef was able to get it.
If this place is the only time you’ve experienced Greek food and you disliked it - I’d urge you to please give Greek cuisine another chance by going elsewhere. Don’t let this place leave the aftertaste that defines Greek food culture to you.
I won’t say for 100% certain but suspect none of the Greek mains are prepared on site and likely bought in using a mass catering company as frozen “tv dinners”
To end on a positive note. The pitta was nice.
